Born in 1974, the actress
and host Loretta Stern was trained at the Stage School of
Music, Dance and Drama in Hamburg.
She began working
in television on the kids’ show “Bravo TV,” followed by
episode roles in a number of tv series, including “Tatort.”
Her feature films include Oskar Roehler’s “Agnes und
seine Brüder” (2004), the comedy “Plötzlich Berühmt”
(Oliver Schmitz, 2005) and Peter Thorwarts’s “Goldene
Zeiten” (2005).
She has been hosting for ARTE from the
film festivals in Berlin and Cannes since 2003. Loretta
Stern is also an accomplished singer.
Born in 1961, Sibyll Klotz is the chairman for the Green party
in the Berlin House of Representatives.
After studies in phi-
losophy at the Humboldt University, she wrote her disserta-
tion on women’s issues and worked as a scientific employee
at Charité Hospital from 1984 – 1990. In 1989 she left the
SED and co-founded the Unabhängige Frauenverband UFV
(Independent Women’s Association), which she represented
in the German Parliament in 1990.
Ms. Klotz has represen-
ted the Bündnis 90 / Green Party at the Berlin House of
Representatives since January 1991.
Pepe Danquart, born in 1955,
studied communications and founded the “Medienwerk-
statt” Collective in Freiburg.
From 1984 to 1986 he taught
at the dffb (German Film and Television Academy Berlin),
and since 2001 he has been an instructor at the Film
Academy Ludwigsburg. In 1994 he received an Oscar®
for his short film classic “Schwarzfahrer”. His docu-
mentary “Nach Saison” received a number of awards in
1997, including the Friedensfilmpreis at the Berlinale. For
“Heimspiel” he was awarded the German Film Award for
“Best Directing”.
Most recently he directed “Höllentour”, a
feature film documentary on the Tour de France.
For
the past seven years Malcolm has been variously Director
and Producer of the St Kilda Film Festival and this year is the
director of its international program.
He is also currently the
Artistic Director of the Darwin Festival, a multi arts festival,
which focuses on Australian Indigenous cultural expression
and Australia’s relationship with the Asian region.
He was
the producer of the multi media work “The Heart of the jour-
ney” which toured extensively in Australia and Asia and has
recently directed the multi media presentation “Chika”.
