GETTING THERE

By car:

From all directions Autobahn A 10 / Berliner Ring.

Coming from South:
A 115 as far as exit „Kaiserdamm“, then drive towards „Mitte / Alexanderplatz“.
Drive down Karl-Liebknecht-Straße, turn left into Spandauer Straße until you reach Hackescher Markt.

Coming from North or East:
drive towards „Zentrum / Alexanderplatz“, take A 114 towards “Zentrum / Mitte”.
The A 114 eventually turns into Karl-Liebknecht-Straße. Follow that street; turn right into Spandauer Straße until you get to Hackescher Markt.

By train

From Bahnhof Zoo or Ostbahnhof take the S-Bahn (urban rail) S3, S5 or S7 towards “Alexanderplatz”. Get off at “Hackescher Markt”.

By plane

From Airport Schönefeld take the S-Bahn (urban rail) S9 to station “Hackescher Markt“ or take a regional train headed for “Alexanderplatz”.
At “Alexanderplatz” change into an S-Bahn, get off at “Hackescher Markt”.

From Airport Tegel take Bus X9 to station “S+U Zoologischer Garten”, then switch to S-Bahn S7 towards Alexanderplatz, get off at “Hackescher Markt”.

By cab

Take a cab from Airport Tegel to Hackescher Markt, the ride takes approximately 20 minutes and costs 23 €.

GETTING AROUND

Public Transportation

Berlin has a very good public transport system. You can reach almost any destination by subway, urban rail (S-Bahn), bus or tram.
The ‘Berlin A/B’ fares apply in the downtown area.

Rates

Single journey ticket Berlin A/B: 2,10 €

Short distance ticket (three stops by subway or S-Bahn, 6 stops by bus or tram): 1,20 €

Day ticket Berlin A/B:5,80 €

7-Day ticket Berlin A/B: 25,40 €

All tickets can be purchased at the ticket vending machines in the subway stations or other stops. For subway and S-Bahn, please make sure to validate your ticket before you enter the train!
The validation machines are located on the platforms. On buses and trams you’ll find the validation machines inside the vehicle.

Taxi

Tip to get a cheap taxi-ride:
Stop a taxi on the street and ask for a ‘Kurzstrecke’ (short distance). For 2 km you only have to pay 3 €.
