Born in Hannover in 1941, Otto Sander was one of the most outstanding theatre actors in Germany. He studied Theatre, German and Art History in Munich and took acting lessons at the Otto-Falckenberg School. His career is closely connected to the renowned Schaubühne Theatre in Berlin, under the direction of Peter Stein. While theatre made Otto Sander great, cinema and television made him popular and owing to his roles in Wim Wenders' films he attained cult status.
